“No amount of money, no amount of security is ever going to give you the sense that this is the right time.”  Debbie Millman

Markets took the week to move back up off lows and are now setup to break higher anytime with the Nasdaq leading which is always great.

Many stocks took a little break and have small lows in place with buy levels ready to go.

The very short rest period stocks have taken are a testament to the strength of this bull market.

AMZN is breaking out strongly, MSFT is on the slow go and PCLN won’t stop and other leading stocks are acting very special as well.

I’m in heavy buying mode, but waiting for the right buy levels.

SPY is working back to highs and doing so nice and slow.

A great test of the 50 day is good to see and I should have been into it at that level but I wasn’t.

We should see SPY move up to the 240 area in the week ahead before it give new highs another go after a few days of rest.

Cray Cray

“Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.”   Joshua J. Marine

Action continues to be very fickle and so far tonight we’ve got AMZN off large while V is up a tad and MSFT up a few dollars all on earnings and GOOGL is reacting poorly to the AMZN numbers to throw another wrench in the spokes.

It’s a coin flip market and I avoid those so cash is where I am although I did try one short today.

CRAY has been a bit cray cray lately so I shorted at 37.80 when it looked set to come back to earth but it didn’t so I took a small loss and got out of my short at 38.30.

No big deal and it was a very small trade.

Take a week off and come back and see how things are going then would be the best advice, otherwise if you can’t sit on your hands this market will chop up your account

It may seem like a weeks vacation somewhere is expensive but much more than that can be taken from your account in the same amount of time and you’re brain will be done, or you could come back from the beach refreshed and relaxed and ready.

SPY January 29, 2016SPY continues to chop between the 190 area and 187.50.

A break either way can be traded and I’ll likely try it but in small to medium size in this very poor market.

With leading stocks giving poor numbers or acting poor on good numbers this remains a very dangerous market to play around in.

Have a nice evening.

S&P At Resistance

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”  Lao Tzu

A strong day for markets with the S&P gapping up on the open.

Leading stocks are also moving well out of great bases, namely AMZN, but I did not chase the gap.

If these types of breakouts are for real we will have plenty of dip buy areas to get in so I’m looking for those, likely next week once traders return in full.

SPY December 30, 2015A good day for SPY but we’re at 207.50 resistance now so let’s see if we move lower or hug this area and setup for a nice breakout into the new year next week.

Have a wonderful evening.

Stocks Say It’s Breakout Time

“The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we hit it.”  Michelangelo

A great day for stocks including CLVS that we bought early today down at the 86 area and it is acting perfectly, as you want to see when a stocks breaks above a buy point, but that has been a rare event as of late so it’s a nice change.

Closing strongly and above $100 is so nice to see and on massive volume.

Markets are acting great and near highs in the case of the S&P and Nasdaq and the

Russell is trying to move back above a key level as well.

As I’ve said here, I have been in cash for a few weeks and began to buy back in this week and then more today and now I’m in the market with a decent size already.

We may just be starting this move, or it may fail and I’ll be quickly back to cash but so far it seems like our patience is paying off well, doubly so in the case of CLVS!

There is only 1 month left in my real-time trading service so it’s only $100 now and that includes any buy or sells I make sent to you in real-time via email, twitter and text message and it also includes the full version of this report where I delve into many stocks beyond the free blog portion where I talk about the SPY ETF only.

Everyone payed for their subscriptions today in spades with CLVS.

SPY May 15, 2015SPY is close to going and it needs to clear this 212 area on heavy volume and stocks are telling me it should happen very soon so let’s just see.

Have a great long, but never quite long enough, weekend.

Chop Chopped The Legs From Under This Market

“A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement.”  Bo Bennet

We saw lots of chop once again until the weakness took hold in the afternoon but SPY is still holding critical support for now but that may not last long.

I suggested the IWM was leading us lower last night and it has, but it now sits at the 100 day moving average support area and we are approaching oversold territory all of a sudden as well.

I picked up a little BIB late in the day but I’m certainly not ready to get heavy yet, but we can see some great bounce play anytime now.

SPY May 1, 2015SPY is still holding the lower end of this large triangle for now.

206 is the next major support area to watch for if we break below this 50 day average with some force.

Volume is high which tells me there is some conviction behind this move.

Have a great night, Friday and weekend and don’t bother with this junky market for the most part.

“Live life fully while you’re here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You’re going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don’t try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human.” Anthony Robbins

Another solid day for stocks with the IWM starting to breakout, and lead as I’ve suggested here to members.

Our stocks remains strong and now with NFLX up large tonight on earnings we could be in for a few awesome days or longer.

Last earnings season the NFLX numbers took many other stocks larger by a large margin and gave us our 2 best weeks of the year and this could be a repeat.

Buckle up and buckle down and make lots of quick profits here while we can.

I cannot stress enough how much this is the perfect time to get into my real-time trading group.

SPY April 16, 2015SPY has rested perfectly near highs and is now ready to go.

If this breakout is to be sustainable for the next 6 to 8 weeks then I really want to see a massive volume increase on this breakout.

If you’re short here I’d be very careful if we see the kind of breakout I’m looking for.

Enjoy your evening and get lots of homework done while the getting is good.

“In one minute you can change your attitude and in that minute you can change your entire day.” — Spencer Johnson

A very strong day for leading stocks in many cases and we were lucky enough to have PCYC from 172 last week and it jumped large today on buyout talk.

Love it when that happens and it’s happened a couple times to us already this year which turns out well for us.

We did see a dip later in the day and dips have only been buying chances lately so so far it is just that.

We closed well which is always important.

Early in the week we’ve seen weakness while strength has come later in the week and that is how this week is playing out for us so far so take advantage of that until it ends.

SPY February 26, 2015SPY is quiet and very tight or dull and you know what they say, don’t short a dull market.

It is really shaping up to be a great next couple months of trading so it is time to really buckle down and take advantage of it.
